![]() Some final thoughts, but don’t think of them as FINAL THOUGHTS because that doesn’t exactly convey a spirit of encouragement unless you’re encouraging an outcome different than the one I’m encouraging because if that’s the case, these are definitely NOT final thoughts for you, weirdo. — Been so crazy lately that I nearly forgot Business Appreciation Month in Citrus County. Then I was reminded Tuesday evening when Just Wright Citrus passed another milestone by exceeding 4,700 Facebook followers.
Don’t get too excited. I noticed the other day that Crystal River Mayor Joe Meek has over 7,300 followers — more than the population of the city he helps to govern. Still, I’m humbled by that trust. I also know there are hundreds of other occasional Facebook participants who choose not to officially climb aboard. I very much appreciate those readers as well. Every so often I publicly thank the advertising sponsors who support this effort. Much as I enjoy writing the blog, truthfully I couldn’t devote nearly the time for it if I was looking elsewhere to earn a living. Through the combined efforts of the 18 businesses and two nonprofits that currently support my website, I’m able to reach my goal: Write a daily blog and keep Social Security at bay another year, or at least another month. I’m proud to receive the support of each and everyone. These folks stick their necks and wallets out, and that allows me to do whatever it is I do most weekday mornings. And that allows you to chime in on the matters that count, which is sort of the whole point. I normally thank these businesses on the Just Wright Citrus Facebook page, but I wanted to do it here because this website wouldn’t exist without them. If possible, please support them: Captain Mike’s Kayak Academy; Meek Real Estate; Tranzon Driggers, Licensed Real Estate Broker; Mike Bays, State Farm Insurance; Brashear’s Pharmacy; Citrus County Chamber of Commerce; Do or Dye Hair Collective; Dr. Bob’s Compassion Clinic; Habitat for Humanity Of Citrus County; Kinnard Chiropractic; Kovach Law Firm; M&B Dairy; Mike Scott Plumbing; Hometown Citrus; Olde Inverness Antiques; Right Rudder Aviation; River Region Animal Hospital; Rowand Septic Services; Trusted Solutions Insurance Agency Inc.; Wardlow & Cash, P.A. Three of my sponsors have political connections: Jeff Kinnard is a county commissioner; Joe Meek is a mayor and former county commissioner; and Mike Bays’ wife Rebecca is a county commissioner. I say that for full disclosure. You can make what you want with that. I could tell you it doesn’t matter in what I write but I’d understand if you thought that was bunk. (It doesn’t.) Look. Here’s what I know: Just Wright Citrus sponsors, including the ones with political names, provide significant contributions to our community. Small businesses help other small businesses to thrive. I’m thrilled to play a part in that. — Thanks for all the prayers and well-wishes. Remember, we won’t have a full blog on Friday or Monday, and the plan is to return with a blog on Tuesday. Love you all. Join the discussion on our Facebook page. Comments are closed.
